10 Comic Books Worth Checking Out This Week (05/29/2013)

Hello Comic Book Fandom:

Each week Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, BOOM! Studios, and others release comic books every Wednesday and sometimes fantastic comic books get lost in the shuffle. The goal of this list is to highlight ten comic books that are worth checking out for this week.

This is the way the list works: I tend to add more books that are new reader friendly than those that are not. But usually, it’s just a list of books I’m excited for, and you should be too.

This week, Kevin Eastman‘s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” starts up a brand new arc, “City Fall;” if you liked “Star Trek Into Darkness,” than IDW’s “Star Trek” series might be your jam since it picks up right after the film; the new Batman debuts in “Earth 2” Annual #1; “Adventures of Superman” #1 is a must for any Superman fan; Robert Kirkman’s (creator of The Walking Dead) “Thief of Thieves” starts up a brand new arc with issue #14; Brian Wood’s “X-Men” #1 (aka X-Women) kicks off this week; and lastly, Scott Snyder and Sean Murphy’s vertigo series “The Wake,” finally hits shelves with issue #1.

Also, as you may know, Phoenix Comicon was this past weekend, and I had the privilege of attending this year. I got to meet great creators such as Greg Capullo, Mike Mignola, Brett Booth, Sina Grace, Cory Walker, Peter David and many more. Here is some photos, if you don’t believe me:

Despite some minor stuff that bothered me, I had a great time.

So, how about that list?
