Ocean’s 8 | Movie Review

All star cast? Check. Stylish setting? Check. Subtle humor? Check. Fantastic heist plot? Hmm, not so much. Ocean's 8 is the latest installment in the Ocean's franchise, but swaps the eccentric male criminals for their equally masterminded female cohorts. While the acting, pacing, and lavish style and setting make this a fun caper film, the predictable plot and low stakes bring what could have been a superior heist film into the realm of blandness. Ocean's 8 stars

OUR BRAND IS CRISIS | Movie Review

Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton have been in a number of exceptional films. From The Blind Side to Monster’s Ball, if one of their names is attached to a film, people generally take notice. Our Brand is Crisis is not a film title that catches your attention. To most people it has no meaning, but the fact that Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton are both featured (alongside Anthony Mackie of Marvel fame) means

“Gravity” Movie Review

It seems rare to become fully involved and lost in a film; it’s a true testament to the filmmaker if such a notion is achieved. Usually when a guy hears that a comedy is primarily a cast of females, they would deem the film a “chick flick”. Bridesmaids, however. was able to go against the
