Cult Classics, Phoenix’s premiere repertory film revival series, and Zia Records bring WEIRD SCIENCE back to the big screen for our first screening of 2013 on Saturday January 12th at Pollack Tempe Cinemas. It’s all in the name of science … WEIRD SCIENCE for Cult Classics’ first 80’S NIGHT on the calendar year!
Cult Classics is proud to present John Hughes’ fable about what zany hijinks ensue when a couple of nerds (Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith) create a super model shaped computerized genie named Lisa (Kelly Lebrock) out of a super computer, a Barbie doll and a lot of David Lee Roth videos! Will they use her power to get the babes of their dreams or revenge on their bullies, including a very young Robert Downey Jr.!
Prior to the screening, Cult Classics will present a pre-show consisting of vintage trailers and 80’s clips, plus other fun cinema odds and ends sure to please film fans of all ages. We’ll also have giveaways courtesy of our sponsor Zia Records, with Zia gift cards and merchandise. Patrons are encouraged to come dressed in their 80’s best for this 80’s movie party!
Tickets for the film are $11. We have a few VIP options which can get you some different limited edition prints from Victor Moreno Design to commemorate the screening:
- VIP Option #1 – Lisa Package – This option gets you regular admission and an 11×17 print that features Lisa! This is $20.
- VIP Option #2 – Chet Monster Package. This option gets you regular admission, plus an 11×17 print that features Bill Paxton’s Chet Monster from the end of the movie in a send-up of a classic John Hughes poster. This is $20.
- All-Access VIP – This gets you admission, PLUS both of the prints. This is $35.
