Disney+ Cancels ‘WILLOW’ After One Season

BREAKING: Disney+’s live-action original series Willow, which was a sequel to the 1988 fantasy movie directed by Ron Howard, will not have a second season. This news comes two months after the first season of the show, consisting of eight episodes, ended on the streaming service.

The sequel to the popular movie Willow was well-liked by critics, earning an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Although the series won’t be continuing, the Willow property is still held in high regard by Lucasfilm and could be revisited in the future.

Lucasfilm has been revising its film lineup, taking the opportunity to pinpoint the next Star Wars motion picture. Moreover, the corporation has established a significant Star Wars presence on Disney+ by way of the popular live-action show The Mandalorian and the future Ahsoka, Acolyte, and Skeleton Crew as well as cartoon content.

Close attention has been given to media conglomerates such as Disney, who have been attempting to reach a more profitable outcome by cutting down their streaming content expenses. This has led to the eventual cancellation.
