The Trailer For Season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Unveils An Exciting Crossover With Lower Decks

Today, Paramount+ released the official trailer for the much-anticipated second season of its critically acclaimed original series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds which you can view above.

Season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will make its debut on Paramount+ on Thursday, June 15 in various regions including the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. South Korean viewers can also stream the second season on Paramount+, with the specific premiere date to be announced later. Subsequently, new episodes of this 10-episode season will be released weekly on Thursdays.

Additionally, the trailer provided an initial glimpse of the highly anticipated crossover episode featuring Tawny Newsome from Star Trek: Lower Decks as Beckett Mariner and Jack Quaid as Brad Boimler, both portrayed in live-action aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. Notably, this special episode will incorporate animation alongside live-action elements and was skillfully directed by Jonathan Frakes, known for his acting and directing contributions to Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Picard.

In Season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, confronts increasingly dangerous stakes, explores uncharted territories, and encounters new life and civilizations. The crew will also embark on personal journeys that will continue to test their resolve and redefine their destinies. Facing friends and enemies both new and familiar, their adventures will unfold in surprising ways never seen before on any Star Trek series.

The cast of the series includes Anson Mount as Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley, Ethan Peck as Spock, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Joseph M’Benga. Season 2 also features the return of Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk in a special guest role and the addition of Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.
