Ventura, CA — Celebrity guests, fundraisers, and unique events will be a key attraction of the Central Coast Comic Con (C4) as it kicks off its first ever convention in beautiful Ventura, Ca.
Today, the first guests have been announced. It’s a mix of celebrities who are all familiar faces to pop culture and comic book fans alike.
This year weapons specialist and trainer to the stars Tim Weske takes center stage, offering a unique event for guests of C4. Mr. Weske and his acclaimed instructors from Swordplay Fencing Studio will be offering their Jedi light saber class onsite. They will be providing the participants with a unique way for “Younglings” to learn the art of fencing while enjoying themselves in the art and science of being a Jedi. But the biggest part of Swordplay LA is a fantasy “live the wars”, a once in a life time experience where the sword master will teach a group of fans how to use light sabers as a Jedi or a Sith. Students will then, for the first time ever at any convention, perform in front of the convention goers in full costume and theatrics on stage.
Current Superman writer Scott Lobdell will be discussing his role in the Superman mythos and will help us celebrate Superman’s 75th birthday.
Writer and artist Howard Chaykin will be joining us as well. He will be promoting a variety of work, including the hit Satellite Sam and the upcoming Buck Rogers book.
Neil Grayston, best known for his portrayal as Douglas Frago in the hit show Eurekea will be in appearance on Saturday and Sunday. His guest-starring credits include turns on Smallville, The Dead Zone and Supernatural. http://www.syfy.com/eureka/cast/fargo
Miracle Laurie, best known from Joss Whedon’s highly popular TV show Dollhouse will be appearing on Saturday and Sunday.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet and learn from one of the early pioneers of computer based comic book lettering. The owner of Comicraft, Richard Starkings is also the creator and writer of the widely popular Elephantmen graphic novels.
Comic book publishing company Top Cow Productions will be making a huge splash with President / Chief Operating Officer Matt Hawkins in attendance. Also in attendance will be artists Rahsan Ekedal and Eric “Ebas” Basaldua. http://www.topcow.com
