Today, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced on Nintendo Direct that the Special Edition Pokémon X and Y Nintendo 3DS XL will be released in North America and in Europe. The special edition comes in either blue or red with the 2 legendary Pokémon prints etched on the exterior (so pretty…). The handheld will be released on September 27th and will go for $200. Unfortunately, this is just the console itself and does not include the game.
Also in the Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata then announced 2 new side services that will make the most hardcore Pokémon fans anxious. Iwata announced a Pokémon bank service that will allow the player to save up to 3,000 Pokémon (That’s right, 3,000) on a cloud. Pokémon Bank will also allow you to transfer and save Pokémon in future versions of the game for an annual fee. Also, Iwata announced a sub service called Pokémon Transporter, that can transfer Pokémon into the bank from previous games such as Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2. Pokémon Bank is confirmed to arrive in North America and Europe later this year, and will come with a free trial period.
