PHOENIX, AZ – The Phoenix Film Festival has announced IFC Films’ BOYHOOD as theThursday, April 10 closing night film! Filmed over short periods from 2002 to 2013, BOYHOOD is a groundbreaking cinematic experience covering 12 years in the life of a family. At the center is Mason, who with his sister, Samantha, is taken on an emotional and transcendent journey through the years, from childhood to adulthood. 12 years in the making, BOYHOOD is written and directed by Richard Linklater (Dazed and Confused, Waking Life, Before Midnight) and is an intimate and moving epic about childhood, family and growing up. BOYHOOD stars Ellar Coltrane, Ethan Hawke, Patricia Arquette and Lorelei Linklater. To add to the closing night excitement, actor Ellar Coltrane and Producer Cathleen Sutherland will both be in attendance at closing night for a special post-screening Q&A! BOYHOOD will be released by IFC Films on Friday, July 11th.
The 14th Annual Phoenix Film Festival, occurring this year from its opening night on April 3rd to its conclusion on April 10th, is rapidly approaching. Continually breaking attendance records since its inception, last years’ festival saw over 23,000 attendees and there are hopes to pull in even more film enthusiasts this year.
