This February in celebration of John Hughes birthday (February 18), FilmBar is screening classics from the king of teen comedy in the: HUGHES THAT GUY Film Series. He’s crude. He’s crass. He’s family, it’s Uncle Buck (Feb 6-9). He’s crazy about her. She’s crazy about him. He’s just crazy: Pretty in Pink (Feb 13-16). Five strangers with nothing in common, except each other: The Breakfast Club (Feb 20-23). Before they could stand together, they had to stand alone: Some Kind of Wonderful (Feb 27-March 2). Uncle Buck. As an idle, good-natured bachelor, Uncle Buck is the last person you would think of to watch the kids. However, during a family crisis, he is suddenly left in charge of his nephew and nieces. Unaccustomed to suburban life, fun-loving Uncle Buck soon charms his younger relatives Miles and Maizy with his hefty cooking and his new way of doing the laundry. With a little bit of luck and a lot of love, Uncle Buck manages to surprise everyone in this heartwarming family comedy. (Feb 6-9)

Pretty in Pink. She’s a high school girl from the wrong side of town. He’s the wealthy heart-throb who asks her to the prom. But as fast as their romance builds, it’s threatened by the painful reality of peer pressure. Pretty in Pink is a bittersweet love story with an upbeat ending and a phenomenal rock score. (Feb 13-16)

The Breakfast Club. Five high school students, all different stereotypes, meet in detention, where they pour their hearts out to each other, and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought. (Feb 20-23)

Some Kind of Wonderful. A young tomboy, Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson), finds her feelings for her best friend, Keith (Eric Stoltz), run deeper than just friendship when he gets a date with the most popular girl in school, Amanda, (Lea Thompson). Unfortunately, the girl’s old boyfriend, Hardy (Craig Scheffer), who is from the rich section of town, is unable to let go of her, and plans to get back at Keith. (Feb 27-March 2)
