There’s a lot of chatter that Spike Lee’s “Oldboy” will be bad compared to Park Chan-wook’s 2003 film. Well, the trailer for the 2013 film seems so-so; one of my favorite parts in the 2003 was the hammer scene. If you don’t know what I’m talking, go YouTube it because it’s pretty amazing. Anyways, Bloody-Disgusting got a new photo showing Josh Brolin‘s character, Joe Doucett, holding a hammer which excites me in every-way. And GeekTyrant is saying that the 2013 will be more brutal than the 2003 film. So, we’ll see.
Anyways, check out the photo below and newest trailer after the jump:
“‘Oldboy’ is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.”
“Oldboy,” which is directed by Spike Lee, hits theaters November 27th, 2013, and stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, James Ransone, and Samuel L. Jackson.
