The 2012 Masquerade Award Show and Competition (MASC) is the premiere character Masquerade show and competition for the Phoenix Comicon. Contestants will design and create costumes that will be worn at the MASC show on Saturday May 26th. MASC emphasizes the character experience. Our categories and judging criteria are designed to reward the best representation of an actual character as presented and performed on stage. Contestants will be evaluated on the craftsmanship of their costume design (during pre-judging Saturday afternoon) and on their on-stage performance (during the MASC show). MASC is a competition open to anyone wanting to demonstrate their costume creation and performance skills. Individuals, register in one of 5 genre categories, groups compete in the Team-Up category, and there are special categories for kids 12 and under and professionals.
