The Ocean is Red With Blood in The New ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ Poster

Say what you want, I’m excited for Noam Murro’s “300: Rise of an Empire.” Sure it won’t be directed by Zack Snyder (who directed 300) but he will co-write and produce this time around.

Below, you can check out the brand spankin’ new poster for “300: Rise of an Empire,” which features an ocean full of blood:

In theaters March 2014, “This movie, is a follow-up to Zack Snyder’s 300 (in turn based on Frank Miller’s 1998 comic book miniseries), is expected to tell, in part, the story of Greek General Themistocles, who lead Athens against Persian invaders in a battle that played out simultaneously with the Battle of Thermopylae (depicted in the first film).

Rodrigo Santoro returns as Xerxes in the film with Sullivan Stapleton as General Themistocles and Eva Green as Artemisia (the film’s original namesake). The film also stars Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell and Andrew Tiernan and is set to be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX.

The first trailer will be online tomorrow at 04:30 PM PT / 07:30 PM PT. I had the chance to check out the trailer at this year’s CinemaCon and it was quite enjoyable.
