Xbox One Release Announced

Friday, November 22nd, that is the date of release for the Xbox One. With that the final piece of the holiday puzzle falls into place.

The question now of course is why would anyone give retailers 3 weeks of hellish Friday nights like that. Furthermore, there will be plenty of distracted Thanksgiving events in the US it seems.

If you’re pre-ordering, but want to do a midnight pick-up, check your local retailers.

Once again, Xbox One releasing on November 22nd, just a week after the Playstation 4’s November 15th debut.

Update: Here is some additional information from GNN writer Davies Green:

Alright Xbox fans, this is the moment everyone was waiting for. Earlier this morning, Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hyrb (aka Major Nelson) tweeted that the Xbox One will arrive in stores on November 22nd, 2013. The system will launch the same day in Europe as well as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and New Zealand. Other markets will release the system later in 2014.

The price for the Xbox One is currently $500 dollars, €500 in Europe, and £430 in the UK. The Standard version of the console includes a new Kinect sensor, Chat headset, HDMI cable, and controller. The Day One edition is the same price but you get some little perks with it. It comes with everything the standard edition comes with, as well as a custom “Day One” controller with chrome d-pad, and “Day One” achievement code. The Day One bundle in Europe receives a free downloaded copy of FIFA 14.
