BookCon Coming to NYC!

The City that Never Sleeps is always teeming with people to meet, big name events, food to taste and experiences to savor. You could live in The Big Apple for years and still not experience all the joys and thrills of New York City. The skyline of Manhattan alone can take your breath away and awe any visitor with its majestic beauty and endless possibilities. One of the many enticing events to mark on your calendar for the month of May is BookCon, hosted by ReedPOP. ReedPOP also runs the world famous New York Comic Con. BookCon is filled with opportunities to meet your favorite authors, mingle with fellow book lovers, and enjoy interactive activities and panels that celebrate our favorite plots and fandoms.

As you read over the list of guests attending BookCon, you will find authors and actors from all over the world that even a dedicated “movies only” fan will not be able to resist. Jason Bateman, most famously known for his astounding work in Arrested Development, Holly Black, the author of The Spiderwick Chronicles, Cary Elwes, the lead actor of the deeply loved movie, The Princess Bride, the legendary authors John Grisham, Stan Lee, James Patterson and Jodi Picoult will all be attending. Not to mention Lemony Snicket, the author of A Series of Unfortunate Events, R.L. Stine, writer of the famous Goosebumps series, Veronica Roth, author of the popular Divergent series and, the lovely actress, comedian, and author, Tina Fey, and Martin Short, esteemed actor and the author of I Must Say will all be present at BookCon.These big names are only a sample of the many wonderful, talented writers and actors who will be attending on May 31st.

The BookCon kick off begins on Friday May 30th at 4:00 pm, proudly featuring “This is Where I Leave You” a panel on Jonathon Tropper’s best-selling book and sneak peek at the film starring Jason Bateman and Tina Fey. On May 31st, interactive activities such as 10 Word Love Story, General Literature Trivia, Macmillan Kids’ Hour and Hunger Games Trivia will be taking place. The panel hours begin at 10:00 am and go until 6:00 pm and the Show Floor Hours run from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Some of the highlight panels that you will not want to miss are: John Grisham in Conversation with Carl Hiaasen, in which these best-selling authors will discuss their latest books, including a returning character from John Grisham’s New York Times Best Seller, A Time to Kill. The Graphic Novel Today will explore the allure of graphic novels and the eye-catching mesh of art and literature. My First Novel: Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me About Writing, Publishing and Promoting a Book is a panel dedicated to solely to aspiring writers who need that positive reinforcement and valuable advice to guide them on their way to being published authors.

Autograph sessions, Q&A’s with the guests of honor, and special screenings will be taking place throughout the day, so don’t miss out on this incredible chance to meet the media’s greatest stars, brilliant minds, and heroes of today’s pop culture!
