Sometimes in life a game comes along that looks absolutely amazing, but due to time or financial constraints we let it slip by. For me, one of these games is Far Cry 3. It has been on my list of games to play for months now, but I keep pushing it back.
It’s funny that it takes a standalone expansion, once thought to be an April Fools joke, to convince me to explore insanity.
Warning: If you are a child of the 80s or 90s, or simply unprepared, this trailer may cause spontaneous pregnancy.

You are Sergeant Rex Colt: Mark IV Cyber Commando. The year is 2007 and Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war which erupted in the 90s. The east vs. west conflict has raged for generations, and humanity continues to struggle to progress after a disastrous decade. New paths for peace must be found, and the US cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. Your mission is to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on.
I can’t be 100% sure of what I just watched, but let me just say that a post apocalyptic, highly ridiculous 90s styled Far Cry game is completely up my alley as a gamer. It doesn’t hurt that everyone who has played it — both legally and otherwise* — have extolled the virtues of the game at length.
Perhaps it’s finally time to journey into insanity in Far Cry 3 to prepare myself for insanity in Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon releases for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on May 1st.
*By the way, don’t be that guy. Just wait for the game’s release.
