(PHOENIX, Arizona – July 9, 2013) Saboten Con is proud to introduce guest of honor Yūko Miyamura and voice actors Laura Baily, Amanda Winn-Lee, Matt Greenfield, and Tiffany Grant who are scheduled to attend this year. Saboten Con will be held from August 31st through September 2nd at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel in Glendale, Arizona.
YŪKO MIYAMURA
Attending for the first time is Japanese guest Yūko Miyamura. Saboten Con is excited to have Yūko Miyamura as its guest of honor for 2013. Yūko Miyamura is a voice actress, J-Pop singer, and sound director from Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture. Best known for voicing the popular Asuka Langley Soryu in “Neon Genesis Evangelion”¸ Yūko has also voiced characters in over 1000 TV episodes, OVAs, animated feature films, and video games, including Aisha Clan Clan in “Outlaw Star”, Casca in “Berserk”, Kazuha Toyama in “Case Closed” and Alyssa Searrs in “My-HiME”. In video games, Yūko has lent her voice to characters such as Chun Li and Rose in the “Street Fighter Alpha” and “EX” series, and Larxene in the “Kingdom Hearts” series. Yūko also had a short on-screen role in the film, “Battle Royale” as the video announcer. In addition to her work as a voice actor, she has also released a number of Japanese pop albums.
LAURA BAILEY
Returning for her second year, Laura Bailey is scheduled to appear at Saboten Con. Laura Bailey started her anime career by voicing Kid Trunks in the hit series “Dragonball Z”. Since then, she has gone on to provide voices in countless animated series. Some of her most popular anime roles include: Tohru Honda in “Fruits Basket”, Lust in “Fullmetal Alchemist”, Shin in “Shin Chan”, Halibel in “Bleach”, and Anko in “Naruto”.
Laura has made her mark in the video game world as well, giving life to Serah Farron in “Final Fantasy XIII”, Helena Harper in “Resident Evil: 6”, Kira Carsen in “Star Wars: The Old Republic”, Rise in “Persona 4” series, Harley Quinn in “Lego Batman 2, Jaina Proudmoore in “World of Warcraft”, the Boss in “Saints Row: The Third”, the title role in “Catherine”, and over a hundred others. Recent projects have Laura voicing Black Widow in “Avengers Assemble”, a new Marvel cartoon series, and Lagoona Blue in the ghoul-tastic “Monster High”. AMANDA WINN-LEE
New to Saboten Con is voice actress Amanda Winn-Lee. Amanda Winn -Lee used to have a very active career in anime, but now she mainly just enjoys hanging out with her son Nicholas “Noodle” Lee. She voiced Rei in “Neon Genesis Evangeleon”, Yukiko in “Persona 4”, Momiji in “Blue Seed”, Rally in “Gunsmith Cats”, Mimiru in “.hack/SIGN”, Rio in the “Burn Up” series, Mika Seido in “Gene Shaft”, Pandy in “Dead Leaves”, and many others. She also wrote ADR scripts and did some directing, most notably for the first round of “Evangelion” movies. In the world of video games, Amanda is best known as the voice actor for Yukiko Amagi in the “Persona 4” series, and has worked on other notable video game titles such as “.hack//Quarantine”, “Saints Row: The Third”, “Silent Hill 3”, and “Trauma Team”.Amanda has also just released her book, “The Noodle Chronicles: Everything I know About Cheating Death I Learned From My Kid” on Kindle and Nook. MATT GREENFIELD
With over 1000 films and TV episodes credited to his name, Matt Greenfield has been writing, directing and producing both animated and live-action programming (plus the occasional comic book) since the dawn of time. His work has been distributed internationally by ADV Films, Anime Network, FUNimation, Happy Carrot, Madman Entertainment, Maiden Japan, Media Blasters, Sentai Filmworks, Section 23, SoftCel Pictures, Switchblade Pictures and Syren. Born in California, Matt escaped at an early age and spent his formative years wandering the country, absorbing cartoons, science fiction novels and horror movies like a sponge.
Matt is married to voice actress Tiffany Grant who will also be attending Saboten Con this year. Mr. Greenfield has had a highly successful career, which includes work on “Neon Genesis Evengelion”, “Battle Angel”, “Gamera”, “Guardian of the Universe”, and hundreds of anime hits like “Bubble Gum Crisis”, “Tokyo 2040”, “Excel Saga”, “Gantz”, “Godannar”, “Golden Boy”, “Gunsmith Cats”, “Macross”, “Nadesico”, “Nior”, “Spriggan”, “Princess Nine”, “Rahxephon”,”Tears to Tiara”, and “Blue Drop”.
Matt has also managed the distribution of such mega-titles as Gene Roddenberry’s “Andromeda” and “Earth: Final Conflict”, “Beastmaster”, “Megaman”, “Mutant X”, “Robotech”, “Shadow Raiders/War Planets”, “Sailor Moon”, “Sonic the Hedgehog”, and “Street Fighter 2” (UK).
TIFFANY GRANT
Delighted to return to Saboten Con is Tiffany Grant! Best known as the English voice of Asuka in “Neon Gensis Evengelion”, Tiffany was the first anime voice actor hired in Texas back in 1994 . She has now voiced characters in 1000+ TV episodes, OVAs, and movies, including “Azumanga Daioh”, “Chrono Crusade”, “Blue Seed”, “Golden Boy”, “Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu”, “Godannar”, “Full Metal Alchemist”, “Maburaho”, “One Piece”, “The Wallflower”, “Noir”, and “Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles”. Her video game credits include “Unlimited Saga”, and “Deus Ex II: Invisible War”. More recently, Tiffany can be found in “Infinite Stratos”, “Majikoi”, and “Bodacious Space Pirates”.
Tiffany has adapted English dubbing scripts for 200+ TV episodes such as “Angelic Layer”, “Hello Kitty’s Animation Theatre”, “Tears to Tiara”, “Ah! My Goddess 2”, “The Wallflower” and the live-action Korean film “Jungle Juice”. She also penned English subtitles for projects including “Miyuki-chan in Wonderland” and the live-action “Tokyo – The Last Megalopolis”.
