Taiyoucon-1

Taiyou Con is an annual convention held in Mesa Arizona. This year, it will be January 3rd through the 5th, held at the Hilton Phoenix East/Mesa hotel. The con will be hosting many events. Great for those who want to spend time with their friends and see some awesome cosplay after the holiday season.

Taiyou Con will be hosting a number of events. The J-fashion show, including local designers, Poison Sugar and Cake Shop Couture. The cosplay café, which this year will be based of the new popular anime Free, and hosted by Ai Café. Tickets will be $10 at the door, or online. The enchanted forest themed Lolita tea party, that promises food, games, gorgeous clothing, and a scavanger hunt. The 18+ Atlus Café, letting you meet characters from your favorite games like Persona and Catherine. The maid café, hosted by At your Service, will pamper you after a long day of walking around the con. Tickets are $10 at the door.

But, perhaps the gem of Taiyou con is the concert performed my J-pop start Mari Iijima. There is no entrance fee to the concert, but, it is first come first serve, so make sure to get there early! Its sure to be a real treat!

On top of all the panels Taiyou is holding this year, they have a great lineup of guests! Cosplayers Maridah, best known for her Saber, ten-year cosplay vetern Tristen Citrine, and BJD collector and well-known cosplayer Ichigo Kitty.

But, if you are more interested in voice actors, Taiyou has you covered as well. Michelle Ruff, best known for her roles in Resident Evil Revelations as Jill Valentine and Rukia from Bleach. Kyle Hebert, best known for his role as adult Gohan in Dragon Ball Z. Darrel Guilbeau, best known for his role as Mikado in Durarara!! And Cristina Vee, best known for her role as Homura in Madoka Magica.
