The MTV movie awards are pretty much like the opposite of the Oscars. These are the movies that everyone loved and we all flocked to, but maybe aren’t necessarily “critical darlings.” I was surprised myself when reading the nominations because Twilight was only nominated for one award. Crazy, I know. It’s also an awards show that doesn’t take itself too seriously, who could with catergories like “Best WTF moment”? It’s always fun watching the show because they usually have funny skits about the movies, my favorite being the Jimmy Fallon Revenge of the Sith spoof, which you can watch below (I also posted the Batman Begins one. There’s a whole slew of them on youtube, including The Matrix spoof). The cool thing about these awards is that you can actually vote for the movie of the year, which you can do here, and this year’s show is hosted by Rebel Wilson from Pitch Perfect so that should be fun.
