Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park!

Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park is approaching fast! I am here to answer some questions about the party! Here we go!

What is the Oogie Boogie Bash?

The Oogie Boogie Bash is Disneyland’s annual Halloween Party! This year the party will be held at Disney California Adventure and will run from September 17th through October 31st!

Where can I get tickets?

Tickets are already on sale for this Halloween Spectacular! Guests can purchase tickets for a party date here. Oogie Boogie Bash is held on select nights during the week and weekends. Ticket prices range from $110 to $140 depending on the night and if you are an annual pass holder or not. Oogie Boogie Bash tickets will allow guests into Disney California Adventure Park 3 hours before party start time.

Can I wear a costume to the Oogie Boogie Bash?

Everyone including adults can dress up for this Halloween party! You can wear your favorite princess attire or fight evil in your Jedi robes! Disney’s dress up rules are as follows:

All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
Guest Costumes may not contain any items that resemble (or could easily be mistaken for) an actual weapon.
Costumes may not contain sharp/pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground (e.g., full-length Princess dresses).

I have been several times and I have seen floor length dresses without any issues, and masks, but Disney has the right to deny you entry.

Will there be trick or treating?

Yes! Little ones and adults alike get a candy bag when entering the party and can use that to trick or treat along the trails. Trick or treat trails will be listed on a map given to guests as you walk in. You will get a lot of candy, so you may want to bring your own bag or pillowcase! Disney also has some healthy snacks available such as apple slices and carrot sticks.

Will there be fireworks?

With the Halloween party being held in DCA this year, the Halloween fireworks will be open to anyone attending Disneyland park instead of only Halloween Party goers. So what is the special show for party attendees? “Villanous” is the new Halloween World of Color show that will be featured during the party. The show will feature an all new character Shelley Marie and will tell a twisted story about her making a decision for a Halloween costume this year. Shelley finds herself wondering if she could really be as strong and unique as some of her favorite Disney Villains. The show will feature amazing special effects and projections and I can’t wait!

What other attractions will be specific to the Halloween Party?

A new dance party inspired by the popular “Descendants” franchise from Disney Channel will be held in the Hollywood Back lot. A dance crew from the Isle of the Lost will come to lead everyone in moves that are set to the biggest hit songs from all three “Descendants” movies. The original “Villain Kids” might even crash the party through magic mirrors. Guests should stick around after as the Back Lot DJ continues to spin tunes.

Guests can also experience the new spooky offering in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be transformed into a world of Disney Villains. The trail will be full of tricks and new adventures. The transformation will be complete with lighting, projections, sounds, and special effects.

Will the rides still be open during the party?

All of the rides in California Adventure will be open during the party and will smaller lines too! Some of the rides will even have a special Halloween overlay, like Maters Graveyard Jam-BOO-ree, and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween! Guests can also expect that the Guardians of the Galaxy will transform into Monsters After Dark with new drops and monsters running loose!

Will Characters be out during the Oogie Boogie Bash?

Yes! Characters will be out to meet and greet and will be wearing their favorite Halloween costumes too!

What else can be expected at the Halloween Party?

Halloween decorations will cover Disney California Adventure. You can also catch the amazing Headless Horseman statue on Buena Vista Street! Different locations in the parks will be serving up special Halloween treats!
