Pumpkins, space ghosts, witches, villains!!! Halloween time is coming to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! Starting September 7th you can expect to see everything in its full Halloween glory until October 31st! Halloween time at Disney means haunted ride overlays, decor, treats, and specially themed entertainment! It also means your favorite characters will be out in their finest costumes!
Disneyland
Disneyland will be the festival of pumpkins with its giant Mickey pumpkin in Main Street and pumpkin decorations all throughout the park. Stop and take pictures with vampire Mickey or witch Minnie on Main Street U.S.A. During Halloween time you can also meet more of the villains walking around. As per usual, the Haunted Mansion will be changed to The Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack Skellington, and Space Mountain will be transformed into Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. I personally loved the Ghost Galaxy overlay to Space Mountain, between the creepy music, and the ghost that chases you through the ride, it is sure to get a good scream out of you. I also love the projection and sounds that they have outside of the space mountain building while you wait in line.
Disney’s California Adventure
Disney’s California Adventure will once again be taken over by Oogie Boogie and transformed into a Halloween wonderland. Bats will once again fill the park and the fabulous Headless Horseman statue will return to Buena Vista Street. Cars Land will be overhauled to Haul-O-Ween décor as well. Several rides will be getting a fun Halloween overly in DCA. Starting in Cars Land, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will be turned into Mater’s Junkyard JamBOOree. Luigi’s Dancing Cars will be turned into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. Last but not least in the Hollywood Studios portion, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout will once again turn into Guardians of the Galaxy-Monsters after Dark every evening.
Halloween time is one of my favorite times to visit the Parks. There is just so much to see and do. All of the special merchandise and sweet treats available are also a big plus! As I get more information on the treats and merchandise they will be releasing, I will let you know! While Halloween time at Disney is so much fun there is also a special ticketed event during this time called Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! So be sure to check that out here!
