The Judge Dredd Act

act, judge dredd, petition, we the people, wtp

Ever since I first reported on the Master Chief statue petition on We the People, I’ve been going through the various petitions.  I uncovered another gem I suspected the GNN crowd would find interesting.

There is a WTP petition, stating in full:

We petition the Obama Administration to:

Establish new legal system of motorcycle riding “Judges” who serve as police, judge, jury, and executioner all in one.

This is a petition to dissolve the current legal system and replace it with a single Hall of Justice, run by Judges; motorcycle-riding law officers who act as police, judge, jury, and executioner.

The petition was created on the 13th of November by Sean M. of San Francisco California.  At press time, it only has 2,858 signatures.  WTP petitions require 25,000 signatures to receive an official response from the White House.  Still, it has until December 13th to achieve the required signatures.

It is worth noting that while the administration will officially respond to any WTP petition that gets the threshold number of signatures, the White House is not required to carry out the petition.

Thus, it is very unlikely that Judge Dredd will be rolling into your city to administer justice anytime soon.
