Glendale, AZ – On Saturday, we saw the birth of a brand new media conglomerate in the Phoenix area. Vista Production Group, the brainchild of Jesse James Criscione and Brian Augustyn, had its premier party at Jesse James Comics in Glendale. Eleven of the valley’s top comic book artists were in attendance to celebrate the event.
Vista Production Group, or VPG, is a way to support the artist community, while expanding their market and providing them with another outlet for them to sell their merchandise. Says Brian Augustyn, “We want to sell the stuff as art, and brand the stuff as collectible.” A website is in the works to sell all of their works, along with a social media presence to promote their art and expand their visibility.

The kickoff event was a rousing success. Eleven of the initial VPG artists were on hand to greet fans, sketch characters, and promote both their works and the work of this new venture.
AZ artists Rob Hicks, Ernie Najera, Eric Mengel, John Derrick West, Alfred Rujillo, Andy Bohn. Chris Craney, April Reyna, Mickey Chaney, Matt Goodall, and Armand Villavert Jr were all on hand to show off their work and support the new venture. Ryan Cody, Scott Godlewski, and Big Chris are also included in the initial group of artists, but were unable to attend. Jesse James and Brian Augustyn were also there, to hand out free sketch books and spread the good word.
