What’s new at Phoenix Comicon 2016!

We are two weeks away from Arizona’s largest Comic book convention, Phoenix Comicon! Whether you are new, went last year, or are a Comicon god or goddess, we will be going over the guests, events, and new additions to Phoenix Comicon this year!

 

Let’s start off with the guest list! Phoenix Comicon usually has a great lineup of guests ranging from comic book creators to movie actors, Authors, and voice actors! Are you a Supernatural fan? How about Doctor Who? Star Trek? Phoenix Comicon has an excellent guest list this year for its attendees such as Mark Pellegrino, Alex Kingston, Sean Astin, James Marsters, Gates McFadden, Robert Beltran, Oded Fehr, and many more! If you are a huge voice actor fan they have some great guests for that as well such as the cast of the Animaniacs, Nolan North, DC Douglas, and Arryn Zech!  You can see the full guest line up here. Not much of a guest fanatic? Phoenix Comicon has loads of programming throughout each day of the convention. They have their big staples such as the fashion show, Masquerade Costume Contest, and big after parties! But there is plenty of other things to do as well! Discuss your favorite fandoms with fellow fans in the panel rooms. Learn how to build a set of trooper armor with fellow 501st members. Learn how to be a Mandalorian with the Mando mercs. Do you have a child attending with you? They have several events and activity rooms dedicated to the growing geeks around the convention. The little one can show off their artistic skills in the art room and can even enter the youth art contest on Sunday or build fantastic creations in the Lego build lounge. You can see the full programming list here. If you are more of an after hours party person you should check out some of these events! Make sure you purchase any event tickets if they are necessary!

New this year, Phoenix Comicon will be shutting down Adams for a mini street con! There will be food trucks, drinks, and live music. You can check out more about this event here!

Are you a gamer? Phoenix Comicon has plenty of gaming sessions they will be hosting at the Hyatt throughout the weekend.  Go ahead and checkout the gaming schedule and sessions here. There is also plenty of gaming programming going on during the entire convention as well! You can check out all of the gaming panels and events here!

Aside from all of the programming panels, and Find your favorite geek attire, action figures, pop culture items, and comics from your favorite vendors in the exhibitor hall. Phoenix Comicon has over 500 vendors this year and each one has different and unique items available for you to purchase. Are you a fan of the arts and like purchasing local artist’s work? Artist Alley is the place for you. In Artist Alley you can see all of the art works and creations from local and non local artists. Are you at Comicon to see your favorite hero? The Hall of Heroes is the place to be. The Hall of Heroes will be located on the third floor of the convention center and features all of Arizona’s local costuming groups such as the Justice League, Arizona Avengers, 501st, Mando Mercs, Heroes United, and many more! Memberships are still for sale online. The full event price is $70, Thursday $15, Friday $20, Saturday $40, and Sunday is $25. If you are bringing children over the age of 2, they will need their own child badge which is available for $5. You can check out the badge prices and purchase them here.
