Wonder Woman | Movie Review

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

The long-awaited DC Comic’s Wonder Woman standalone film does for female superheroes what Marvel’s Black Widow failed to accomplish. DC created a female superhero whose impetus does not correlate directly to a male-centric motivation for destruction. While the film does surround itself with The Great War, and it’s mostly a male-dominated world, this reviewer never felt like the writers attempted to explain away Diana Prince (Israeli actress Gal Gadot) simply because she was a woman.

This past year Disney took the crown with a number of high-profile franchise releases. While most would think WB would come out of the gate with guns blazing for its CinemaCon 2017 showcase, that wasn’t quite the case. There were some big highlights, but overall the presentation left many wanting. Dunkirk Christopher Nolan was on-hand

DC Collects The History of Wonder Woman

My history with Wonder Woman has been long and fruitful. Since I was a kid watching “Super Friends” on Saturday mornings, I evolved into watching Linda Carter’s live action exploits and reading LOTS of Wonder Woman comics. DC Comics has changed the story around from time to time; her evolution from the original character as created in 1941 by William Moulton Marston (also creator of the lie detector) is basic and sometimes even considered a little sordid:

“Justice League 3000 #1” Comic Review

Released in the throws of DC’s Forever Evil event where all the Justice League teams have been temporarily deposed, Justice League 3000 #1 is one strangely timed issue. It's also incredibly divisive. You’ll either love the turn that writers Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis take in a Justice League title seemingly separate from the current state of DC affairs, or the idea that this Justice League isn’t really the Justice League is going to stick

‘Fast & Furious’ Star Cast as Wonder Woman in Man of Steel Sequel

We’re not sure yet if it’s “Man of Steel 2,” “Batman vs Superman,” or “Superman vs Batman,” but it is now confirmed that Wonder Woman will be appearing in Zack Synder’s follow-up to this year’s Man of Steel. Actress Gal Gadot has been cast in the sequel as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), joining Henry Cavill (Superman) and Ben Affleck (Batman) to form DC’s World’s Finest Trinity. Gadot is certainly not a recognizable name, but she

Long Time Con-goer, First Time Cosplay

I don’t consider myself a cosplayer. I’m a chick who occasionally dresses up as Wonder Woman at comic conventions. The New 52 version, with kick ass full coverage pants and usually never longer than an hour because until now the only super looking black boots I had were thigh high hooker platforms picked up at a local thrift exchange for a dime and a song. Let’s face it, those types of shoes don’t really lend themselves
